It seems like these days SUVs are getting more attention by the new buyers. As earlier SUVs were considered to be high maintenance vehicles restricting the demand to the upper class. However with the launch of compact SUVs at an affordable price in the Indian car market has increased the demand for SUVs in almost every segment of buyers. Here we have introduced a list of top 5 (Five) SUVs which have low maintenance cost and are affordable. MARUTI VITARA BREZZA Maruti Suzuki usually offers low maintenance cars and Maruti Vitara Brezza is no different. Recently upgraded with the new petrol powertrain by replacing the 1.3-litre diesel engine fetches not more than INR 7,500 of service cost depending on the service intervals. The Maruti Vitara Brezza now gets a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine mated with both 5-speed manual (MT) and a 4-speed automatic (AT) gearbox options generating a power of 105 PS against 138 Nm of torque. HYUNDAI VENUE Another vehicle that tops the list is Hyundai Venue which comes with 2 (Two) petrol engine options and a diesel engine option and the service cost of the same is not more than INR 8,000 for either of the option. The petrol variants of the Hyundai Venue get a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generating a power of 83 PS against 113 Nm torque and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-charged petrol engine generating a power of 120 PS against 172 Nm of torque whereas the diesel variant gets a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine generating a power of 100 PS against 240 Nm of torque. Both the turbo-charged petrol engine and the diesel engine is mated with a 6-speed manual (MT) gearbox whereas the naturally aspirated petrol engine is mated with a 5-speed manual (MT) gearbox. FORD ECOSPORT One of the most demanded compact and affordable SUV is the Ford Ecosport. Not just the purchasing cost is affordable but also the maintenance cost which goes up to INR 8,500 for the petrol variant and INR 10,500 for the diesel variant. Ford Ecosport offers 2 (Two) engine options; a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine generating a power of 123 PS against 149 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine generating a power of 100 PS against 215 Nm of torque, both mated to a 5-speed manual (MT) gearbox. TATA NEXON One of the most affordable SUV when it comes to purchasing cost as well as the maintenance cost is the Tata Nexon which fetches a service cost of not more than INR 8,000 for the petrol variant and INR 9,500 for its diesel variant. The Tata Nexon gets 2 (Two) engine options; a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-charged petrol engine generating a power of 120 PS against 170 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine generating a power of 110 PS against 260 Nm of torque and both the engines are mated with either a 6-speed manual (MT) gearbox or a 6-speed automatic (AT) gearbox. MAHINDRA XUV 300 Another SUV with a huge demand in the Indian car market is the Mahindra XUV 300 which offers a maintenance cost of up to INR 9,000 for its petrol variant and INR 8,000 for its diesel variant.
