How to plant carpet seeds in an aquarium? In today's video, I am going to show you, how to set up a simple carpeting aquarium. I bought some seed from the aqua shop nearby, understand that lots of aqua expert were telling me that, this seed is not working, it is a fake aquatic plant, but when I double confirm with the seller, they told me that this carpet plant can last a for a year, and compare to those carpet plants that I have tried before can't even last for a month in my low tech tank. Well, the best way to prove is it real or not, I am going build my 2nd low-tech betta tank with this method. Here are the materials I need, Aqua Plant Seed (Love Grass Seed), Amazonia soil, dark grey lava rock, driftwood, Aquascaping glue, and an Aquascaping Substrate Spatula. The first layer, structure the base with Amazonia soil and lava rock. I found the driftwood which looks similar to a mini tree, gonna give it a base, easier for positioning. I will use tissue paper to combine 2 driftwood together. Let the glue dry before putting it into the soil. Spread the seeds around the base Mist the seeds with the spray bottle, keep this action daily. to keep the seeds moist at all time, I will cover them up with a plastic bag The aqua seeds plant will grow up in about a week's time. Before I fill in the water, I have some work to do, because I want it to looks like a tree, so I am gonna stick some moss on driftwood. I am using Marimo moss ball, you can get reject stock for Aquascaping used, reject stock price is much cheaper. Okay, it's done! To fill my tank without the mess, I will cover up the substrate with a plastic bag, made sure that the water flowed gently before hitting the carpet plants. Remove the plastic gently, and I think I need to insert more plants. This is the Anubias plant, I highly recommend this type of aquatic plant for the low-tech tank, very easy to maintain they can live without CO2, and in a low light condition. They often sold attached to driftwood wood, don't require soil to grow. If you put them into the soil they might rot. Ready to put my betta fish in! Welcome to your new home, I hope you like it. He's curious, can't handle his cuteness when he looks at me. Now I have 2 low-tech Aquascaping betta tanks! Even my cat enjoys watching it.
