My 600-lb Life is a reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired. Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

@@lynnpechtorres69925 years ago Gastric sleeve saved my life! I was 435lbs and now almost 2 1/2 years post op im 162lbs. This is no easy fix either. Surgery helps for the first 6-9 months and then after that its all about individual diet. When people say its the "easy way out" they have no clue what they are talking about! Yes the surgery helps no matter what you eat but once you are out of that happy grace period you have to be on top of your diet or you will gain or just not lose anymore. The only way to succeed is to change your relationship with food. ... 50

@@jermainefarmer28215 years ago is wonderful I have stage four lymphedema to my lower extremities the doctors say is a result from a dramatic in northern mich.and I can't find anyone to help and I see remove lymphatic masses and what I wouldn't do to have someone remove my masses they effect your walking,people think your fat,they state and talk about you.if people would ask people would rather explain the disorder instead of looking like a public freak show to those who don't keep up the good job and I pray to find someone who can help me the way you help all the patients you work on!! ... 4
