Symrise, who designs flavors and scents for over 30,000 products worldwide, including those from Nestle, Coca-Cola, and Unilever, has fallen victim of Clop ransomware. Symrise employs over 10,000 people worldwide, and generated €3.4 billion in revenue in 2019. Any time a company's revenue can be measured in billions, they become a very tempting target for ransomware operators, who are increasingly finding new ways to streamline processes to increase profits. The Clop ransomware attack on Symrise claims to have stolen around 500Gb of unencrypted data before encrypting files on the affected systems, and a total of 1,000 devices have allegedly been encrypted. In keeping up with the ransomware trends of 2020, the Clop gang has released data on their leak site to prove that they are in possession of data stolen from Symrise. With the constantly changing ransomware landscape, Acronis Cyber Protect uses AI-based and behavioral detection techniques to identify and stop ransomware attacks like Clop, and provides simple ways to restore encrypted files in as little as a few seconds. #Symrise #Clop #Clopransomware #ransomware #Acronis #CyberFit #CyberProtection #AcronisCyberProtectCloud #CyberSecurityNews #CPOCNews #CPOC #CyberSecurity #CyberProtect _____ Don't get caught unaware.
